Colin Beard; Jimi At Monterey Stage 9 Color:Black Frame: Edition A/P of 20 Publisher: Javal & Bourdeaux 1928These photos were taken at one of the most influential music festivals in history, the Monterey International Pop Festival held in San Francisco during the first days of the "Summer of Love" June 16 18, 1967. The Beatles were invited to the festival but declined, and in their stead Paul McCartney recommended a new artist that had been knocking them out of the small clubs in London, a relatively unknown artist in the US by the name of Jimi Hendrix.
